Mae angen i’r Frenhines Cleopatra brofi wrth Iŵl Cesar fod hen ysblander yr Aifft yn fyw ac yn iach. Felly mae’n gorchymyn i’w phensaer, Todanjeris, i adeiladu palas gwych i Gesar — mewn cwta dri mis! Bydd dod â’r maen i’r wal yn amhosib i Todanjeris ar ei ben ei hun, ond mae help wrth law gan ei hen gyfaill, y derwydd Gwyddoniadix a’i gyd-Galiaid, Asterix ac Obelix. Gyda gelynion ar bob cwr, mae ein harwyr yn teithio i’r Aifft… Ac yno mae trwyn bach del Cleopatra yn gadael ei ôl arnyn nhw — a hwythau’n gadael eu hôl ar y pyramidiau a’r Sffincs!

To prove to Julius Caesar that Ancient Egypt is still a great nation, Queen Cleopatra tells him her best architect, Todanjeris, will build a magnificent palace in Alexandria in his honour — within three months! Todanjeris realises this is going to be an impossible mission, unless he gets help from the druid Gwyddoniadix and his fellow Gauls, Asterix and Obelix. With villanous saboteurs everywhere, our heroes head for Egypt,where the Queen’s pretty nose leaves its mark on them — and they leave their mark on the pyramids, the Sphinx!
